What role does a Chaplain play in the marketplace?

Do you use food as a way to comfort yourself?  The most difficult aspect of trying to control an addiction to food is the fact we still have to eat!

Christianity Today Magazine posted an article in Today's Christian Woman titled "I Was a Food Addict".  Read about how Karen Rabbitt broke the classic addiction cycle of using food to numb the pain of shame.

April's Question Conclusion:
Are you living a driven life or a directed life?

If you do any sort of traveling in your business, you probably have rented a car.  Several years ago while traveling to Cincinnati on business, I rented a car that had the new GPS navigation system installed called NeverLost.  You simple put in your destination and the dashboard system gives you a map with written and verbal instructions giving you exact directions.  Simple AMAZING!  The product name NeverLost really hit my spirit and I began to think about God as our GPS navigation system.

My first thoughts swirled around the fact that before NeverLost, I used to pray when I got lost while traveling in unfamiliar cities.  I am here today to tell you that God always intervened in some way to show me the way.  Then I wondered what other technologies have we invented that have given us the ability to live without God's help?  That's a topic in and of itself.

I have to admit that I secretly admitted to God that I wished I could plug in a destination and that HE would simple give me the exact instructions like NeverLost...simple, step by step directions.  He quickly reminded me that he does, just in a more loving way. Here are God's "NeverLost" directions to live a more directed life:
  • Spend time with Him daily...be still and listen. (I Samuel 15:22)
  • Read His Word and experience LostNoMore. (Psalm 119:105)
  • Surround yourself with safe,  loving, committed business people to give you Godly council, wisdom and direction. (Romans 12:9-10)
Member Feedback:
Rick DeMars writes: Over the past few years, I have come to see that I was too busy.  Once I slowed down (not by my choice), God started placing people in my life that I was able to share the love of God with.  I asked myself, why is God placing all these people & situations in my life now?  I then remembered all the times that I had made excuses because I was "too busy", or people would say;  "I didn't want to bother you, you're always so busy."  It's HIS will be done, I need to be available.

Thank you Rick for sharing and being so open.  This is true wisdom!

I Samuel 15:22
Samuel answered, "What pleases the Lord more; burnt offerings and sacrifices or obedience to his voice? It is better to obey than to sacrifice.  It is better to listen to God than to offer the fat of sheep."

Psalm 119:105
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Romans 12:9-10
Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil;cling to what is good.  Be devoted to one another in brotheryly love.  Honor one another above yourselves.
